This past Monday they did a barium enema on our little Eva, they weren't able to see or find any stricture in her colon. They wanted to do a GI but they wanted to wait for her to be off the ventilator for at least a day before doing it. So on Tuesday night, they were able to wean her off the ventilator. Thursday morning she was off nasal cannula and on room air again! Yay! This morning they had her drink some barium from a bottle, she sure loved that. They did a GI and several x-rays through the day today. We finally got the call that we have been waiting patiently for. One of the nurses from the NICU called and to tell us that they didn't see any stricture or physical issues with her intestines. They will have a meeting with Dr. Stroub (the surgeon) to discuss what other tests they will need to do to find out what is wrong with our little Eva. We are so grateful for all the prayers for our little Eva. She hasn't been able to have breast milk, fortified formula or neocate for 3 weeks now due to all the issues with her tummy. We hope that they will be able to find out what is wrong so that she can eat again.
