Kansas City Temple Open House

We were able to attend the Kansas City Open house on April 24, 2012. What a blessing it is to have a temple so close! We were able to get tickets for the 5:30 pm tour session. After Daddy came home we finished getting ready and headed up to the temple. What a wonderful experience! They had us go to the new stake center (next to the temple) first to watch a 10 minute video and the walk over to the temple afterwards. Our girls weren't so quiet during the video so we just waited in the hallway. For the open house....Natalie and Eva did WONDERFUL! Eva insisted that she be carried the entire way, by ME! By the end, I was so tired! But it was so worth it! I enjoyed watching Natalie fold her arms as she walked through the temple. Just before we went into the Celestial room, we whispered to the girls that they still needed to be very quiet. As we entered the room, both girls looked right up at the chandeliers and said, awwwwwwwww. What a sweet moment that was. The theme in the temple was the Olive Tree. Everything was simple but beautiful and so elegant. My heart was so full being with together as a family in such a sacred place. And to even that the the next time we will be in the temple with our girls when they are twelve!! EEEEEEKKK!! As were were leaving the temple, the girls both continued to stay quiet. On the way home, we told them just how PROUD we were of them for being reverent while in the temple. Natalie was very talkative about being inside the temple. She would say that it was so beautiful, or that is where she will be married. I love that she was excited about it. What a sweet blessing this was for our family to experience together.
