Super Saturday!

Yesterday was the Grain Valley Homecoming parade. Natalie's Early Childhood program was going to walk in the parade. The theme was Fairytale ending. They asked all the parents to have the kids dress like a fairy tale character. Natalie wore her Princess Belle dress. It was quite chilly outside. So I bundled her up with leggings under her dress, long sleeves, and a coat. She also wore a white shaw on top of her coat. She looked really pretty! She loved riding with all her friends on the float. I walked along the float with several other parents and teachers. Papa and Uncle Marcus came along to be with Eva. She sure enjoyed watching the parade and really loved getting the candy! What a cutie!

After the parade, we came home and ate lunch and the girls napped. After naps, I met up with my family to go to Missouri town. First, we stopped to feed the Elk carrots and pears. The girls loved it! Missouri town was a lot of fun! Natalie got to make a jump rope, she enjoyed spinning the string to make the rope, she tried walking on the stilts, played tic tack toe, lasso'ed (which she loved!). Eva really really loved watching the sheep. She wanted to go and play with a real one! What a great time we had together as a family.

Afterwards, we went and picked up Daddy. I called him on my way, he sounded sad. But he assured me that he would tell me when I got there. As we were switching seats, he told me that one of his sisters had just called him to let him know that his Grandmother has passed away. I hugged him and sobbed in his arms. Grandma Powell was such a beautiful, sweet lady. She truly was a genuine, caring, kind, loyal, loving lady. She hasn't been doing very good lately. In that past several years, she has struggled with dementia. We were planning on visiting her in a few weeks, my heart breaks for not being able to see her one more time. I know that she is happy now, I am sure she keeping herself busy by sharing the gospel with others. While driving home, Natalie asked me, "Why are you sad?" We told her that her Great-Grandma Powell went to heaven. She replies, \"It's okay mommy, you can be happy if you want too." What a sweet girl. After the girls went to bed, Erich went out and set up our new fire pit, he built a fire and we sat around and he shared stories about his sweet Grandma.
