On Friday at school, we were getting ready to watch a movie for our "FUN FRIDAY" activity instead of Rest and Read. Two of my 2nd graders usually go outside to recess with their 2nd grade classroom friends. But on Friday I gave them the choice of watching the movie or going out to recess. This is what he said;
Student: "You decide, you da' Boss"
Me: I looked at him in amazement, he normally gives me the most trouble about doing things. So I asked him again what he wanted to do. He replied;
Student: "You decide, you da' Teacher."
Me: I told him, alright I guess that you will stay inside and watch the movie. He seemed to be so content with my decision.
On Friday afternoon we were getting ready for snack, I called the students one by one to come over and tell me what they wanted for a snack. I called on of my 1st graders, he came to the cabinet but couldn't decide what he wanted, so he went back to his desk. After everyone else had their snack, he said that he wanted a snack too. I asked him what he wanted but he still couldn't tell me. He replied by saying, "Brandon broken." I asked him, "Do you need help?" He replied, "Yes." I replied, "Would a snack help to fix you?" He said, "Yes." So I walk over to his desk and I grab his hand and we walk to the cabinet together to choose a snack.
I love teaching! It is so much fun to journal about the cutest things that kids say.
