Natalie News!

Well Natalie has been home for five days now, we love it! We didn't mind driving to the hospital everyday, we loved the nurses and doctors that were there in the NICU. Having her home has been the best! She is doing really well, she sleeps all day, wakes up long enough for her feedings, then she is back to sleep for a couple of hours. For the past several nights, she has been wide awake until 12:30 am. I will feed her and then she will sleep until her next feeding. My sleep pattern has definitely changed, but I am getting used to it. I enjoy taking naps when she is napping. For the past few nights, when she hasn't gone to sleep, she will cry and cry. She cries because wants to be fed, I was getting worried about feeding her more when she had just eaten an hour ago, but I asked the pediatrician about it, she said that it is ok to feed her more even if it has only been an hour or so. She has a good set of lungs, she can CRY, I don't want to wake Erich so I will take her into the living room and we will fall asleep on the couch. I have been feeling kinda guilty about doing that, because when she does fall asleep, I will put her in her bassinet and within minutes she will cry. But when I bring her into the living room, she cries but within minutes she is fast asleep. Yesterday was the first day that she has taken naps in her bassinet and slept for a few hours. I love being a mommy! It is the best feeling in the world!

Such a great feeling to have her home I'll bet!

Have you thought about a sound machine to help her sleep? She was probably around tons of noises in the hospital, that being at home is almost too quiet! Even a fan would make some noise... just a thought!
