Preschool already!!
Last Friday, we had Natalie eligibility meeting at the Grain Valley Early Childhood Center. It was so nice that Daddy was able to leave work for an hour and come too. As the director of the early childhood center and the teacher went over her test results. She was 1 or 2 points above the baseline. Even though her test scores were a bit higher, they realized that she needs help in physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech and language. Because she doesn't have a learning disability but she is delayed in some areas, they put her under Other Health Impaired (OHI) so that she can attend preschool there. Erich and I are happy with the results. Natalie tends to have some regression after a hospital stay or even when she does get sick here at home. The staff at her school realizes this too. They know and can see that if she doesn't have a preschool setting like this one, she could end up delayed even more. She will get 15 minutes of speech each day, 30 minutes of PT and 60 minutes of OT. She will attend school Mondays-Thursdays in the mornings. She will be starting on her 3rd birthday!! In 10 days!!! EEEEKKKK!! Can't believe my baby will be 3 already! I'm sure that there will be several tears that morning before and after dropping her off at school. But we both know that this is what is best for her.
