2 weeks old!

I know, I know....its hard to believe. But Natalie turned 2 weeks old on Monday. She is 2lbs 6ozs. Her doctor called that morning and said that they were going to take out the arterial line and that she would no longer be on Fentanyl. She also said that Natalie had a great night. Her stats were great! When we went to the hospital to visit her, she looked so cute and cuddly in her incubator. She had 2 visitors our Bishop from church and his wife came to visit. They both just fell in love with her. After they left, the nurses said that she was due for a new incubator, they asked us if we wanted to hold her while they switched out the incubators. After alot of work, I got to hold her. They call it kangaroo care-which is where Natalie lays on my chest skin-to-skin. It was the most wonderful feeling, holding my little daughter for the first time. I loved it!! She was so content. Her stats remained the same while I was holding her. I held her for about 1/2 hour. Then it was time to put her back. She ended up needing to get a new tube so watching that was really hard but I am glad that we stayed to watch our little Natalie get a new tube...it looks painful but luckily Natalie won't even remember it. When we finally left the hospital, she was a sleep all snud in her bed.
