I absolutely LOVE our ward. We have some really wonderful friends there. When I returned to work after bringing Natalie home, we needed someone to help us by taking care of Natalie so that I could finish out the school year, we were so grateful for my Aunt Karen who helped by watching Natalie, my mom and mother-in-law, and a few friends from church helped us out too. Then when we had Eva, there were times that we left Natalie with some friends from our ward so that we could go and spend time with Eva. 2 weeks ago, my Sophia and her husband signed up to take a marriage class held by our church, the class is for 6 weeks on Friday nights. I told her that I really wanted to help her out. So 2 weeks ago, I watched their 3 kids, 5, 4, and 2. What fun we had! They were watching a movie before I arrived. When the movie ended, I taught them simon says, red light, green light, and we read books! (Fancy Nancy is AWESOME!) the boys didn't really care for Fancy Nancy though. About 8:40 pm. They went to bed. I can't wait to go back next Friday to watch them again. What a blast it was to hang out with Jackson, Layla and Ollie. I talked to Sophie the next day, Ollie went walking around the house, asking where the other mom was. She realized that he was talking about me. She told him that I went home to be with Baby Natalie (they still think that Natalie is a baby) and Baby Eva. So cute! It really makes me feel to help another family out. They have always been so kind to us and our girls. I am grateful that Sophia and I are in the same ward and that we have become friends.
Then on Saturday morning, I got a called from Nicole who is also in our ward. She has watched Natalie several times while Eva was in the NICU. She and her husband Nate have 2 boys, Rylan who is 2 and Colten who is a month younger than Eva. She and Nate wanted to go to a matinee. She asked if I could watch Rylan. They weren't able to find a sitter for Colten, so they left him with us too. What fun we had with 2-2 year olds, and 2 babies!! :) I was glad that Erich wasn't working overtime that Saturday. Our living room was full of toys!! :) I think Natalie and Rylan played with just about toy that was in the living room, and they would run back and forth from her room with toys. So cute!! Colten and Eva would sit next to each other, one would tug on the other, then they would fall onto each other and giggle. Both Natalie and Eva fell asleep while the boys were still here. Rylan and Colten were so much fun! Our girls sure enjoyed spending time with their friends. Thanks Nate and Nicole for letting us take care of your sweet boys. After they left, I was amazed at how well the kids were and it really seemed easy. The babies were like twins (just 1 month apart). It really made me feel good inside to return a favor. Gotta love moments like these.
