This past Saturday, Natalie woke up coughing, gave her a treatment and she fell back to sleep for a little while. When she woke up around 7 or so. She was having a hard time breathing and she was struggling. I woke up Erich and he helped me check her oxygen saturation level. She was 85! Not good. So I rushed and packed up a bag for us. Then we headed out the door. After spending five lovely days in the hospital with my sweet Ladybug. I learned a few things..............
1. It doesn't matter if you are expecting or not, the beds at the hospital are still uncomfortable.
2. Always make sure that the nurses know that your daughter drinks 1/2 juice with 1/2 water. Never 100% juice! Boy was she hyper on Sunday night.
3. While playing with Natalie, I was teasing her about her cheeks and pinching them. We both started to laugh out loud. She was laughing so hard, she buried her head into my shoulder and bit me. (First time ever!)
4. Hospital food really isn't that bad. Especially the pancakes!
5. Its not a good idea for the cafeteria to sell cream cheese cherry danishes. I think that I ate 3 of them while we were there.
6. Sleeping next to where the helicopter lands doesn't help to have a full nights sleep. Thankfully, it didn't wake up Natalie.
7. Never knew a magic-doodle could keep the attention of a 2 year old.
8. A respiratory therapist told us that it is better to give a baby/child an albuterol or pulimcort treatment when they are not crying. We were told that it was better to do it when they are crying.
9. Albuterol inhaler is actually better and more effective then the nebulizer.
10. When Daddy came to be with Natalie for a few hours, so Mommy could spend time with Eva. Natalie would point to people in the hallway, wave and laugh.
11. Natalie would constantly push the call nurse button at least 10 times a day. oops! She loves the red light.
12. After staying in the hospital for five days......Natalie came home and slept 13 hours straight! :)
Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers for our sweet little ladybug!
