A surprise from hubby...

Last weekend, Hubby and I were watching TV. He mentioned to me that he wanted to sell all of his game systems and games. I was REALLY surprised! Playing video games is a HUGE part of his life. He has every game system but the wii. So the next day, we put all the systems, controllers, and games on the table. WOW!! We filled the entire table. He knew that he had A LOT but WOW! I asked him,"Are you sure?" He said, that lately, playing games has been taking him away from family time, other projects that need to get done, he wants to advance as a police officer someday and start reading books again. And he knows that playing games isn't going to help him to do these things. I am so PROUD of him for this decision. I know that this was definitely a hard decision for him but the outcome will be well worth it. When he told a few of his gamer guy friends, they were all upset and angry with him about his decision. He mentioned to each one of them that he realized that family time was more important, working on projects was more important, spending time with his wife was important. They soon realized that it was okay and that they understood where he was coming from.

It has been a WHOLE week since he told me that he wanted to sell all his games and games systems. What a major difference this has made in our home. The girls sure love when Daddy plays with them, or read them books, I have really loved sitting next to him on the couch snuggling with him as we are watching TV. The spirit in our home is much different than it was before. I really love this feeling.

How awesome is that?! I am so excited for you guys. Andrew used to play games with his buddies before we were married, and once we were married he stopped. As I've heard stories of gaming coming between other couples, I've been so grateful that it is not an issue for us. Thanks to Erich's selfless and mature decision, that will never be an issue for you guys either. I am so impressed with that! You guys are seriously amazing people.
