Early Wednesday morning, Natalie woke up several times due to all the coughing. I gave her a few albuterol and pulmicort treatments. She drank a bottle and was soon back to sleep at 3:30 am. Around 7:00 am, she woke up coughing, so we did another treatment which seemed to help a little. She was still wheezing after the treatment. Erich came home from work, I was snuggling with Natalie and soon she began to cough, she threw up everywhere and I mean everywhere. All over me, my clothes, hair and carpet, blankets, and herself! Erich helped me by getting her ready for the bath, took her temperature (102.3) and I quickly bathed her, we did another albuterol treatment. I showered and quickly packed up a bag and headed off the to the ER. I stopped to pick up my mom on the way. We arrived at the ER at 9:00 am. They checked us in, we were put in a room pretty quick. For the next 6 hours, we were in the ER, they ran a bunch of tests, she was so dehydrated so they put in an IV so that she could get some fluids in her. Her temperture stayed from 100-103! Quite Scary! The doctors came in to tell me that they were going to admit Natalie into the hospital. She is very sick with a virus in her lungs. They did another chest x-ray, on Monday, she just had spotty fluids in her right lung, but on Wednesday she has spotty fluids in both of her lungs. I was so heartbroken! I couldn't believe how quick she gets sick. We got moved to a room around 3:30 pm or so. What a nice room we have! It's huge! The nurses got Natalie all settled in. She was finally able to drink a bottle! She was fast asleep in no time. By 9pm, Natalie was coughing so much that she threw up again. What a mess that was. The nurse and I got her all cleaned up, got her beddin changed. She was fast asleep in no time. Because she threw up, they wanted her to on pedialyte for a while until the secretions are down. Natalie was so exhausted she slept through the night, she didn't even wake up when they came in to to a albuterol treatment or suction out her secretions.
Thursday December 24, 2009 Christmas Eve
Natalie had to go up to 3 liters of Oxygen instead of 2.5 liters. She really didn't improve much, her fever finally broke around 8:00 am! YAY! She was looking alot better, she wasn't dehyrated! She slept pretty much all day. I was able to snuggle with her which I enjoyed. Daddy had to work this week, so he was home sleeping. I missed him so much. We were able to talk on the phone a few times. My friend, Shelley brought me 2 lamars doughnuts!! YUMMMMMMMMY! She stayed with me until after lunch, it was nice to have someone to talk to and keep me company. My parents brought me Christmas dinner that night. The brought me enough food to last a few meals! The weather was getting really bad out, so they didn't stay very long, we actually got snow for Christmas! We haven't gotten snow on Christmas since I was a little girl. It looks so beautiful out! Natalie had a rough time falling asleep for beditime. I rocked and rocked her for about 2 hours. She finally give and fell asleep. She woke up several times during the night, I felt so bad for her. I just wanted for her to sleep well. At 2:30 am, I had woke up to check on Ladybug, a nurse brought in a HUGE bad, she said, Santa come and left this bag for her. I peeked inside the bag, I was so filled with joy, Natalie got several new toys! How nice it was to get that warm and fuzzy feeling. I loved knowing that someone cared enough for our little baby girl to give her some presents for Christmas. As I laid back down, I realized that this would be the first Christmas that Erich and I haven't spent together. Tears came to my eyes. Oh, how I missed him so much. It is such a blessing that he has a great job. I quickly called him to let him know just how much I love him! Off to bed I went!
