Early Childhood Transition Meeting....
Can you believe it! Natalie's First Steps therapists, the staff at Grain Valley Early Childhood center and I had her first Transition meeting last week. WOW!! It is so hard to believe that my little baby is turning 3 and going to school. Both girls went with me for the meeting. The staff at the school really enjoyed meeting Natalie. They all commented on how well she talks. They were quite surprised to see Natalie do all that she did, throughout everything she has already been through. Definitely a Miracle! Natalie and Eva enjoyed playing in the classroom while we had our meeting. Throughout the meeting, Natalie or Eva would come over to me, greet me, gave me a hug and then went on their way. So cute! This next week, I sign papers for them to start testing, then we will have another meeting to talk about the results of all the tests. They will go over with Erich and I what she qualifies for. For example, Speech and Language, Occupational therapy, or physical therapy. They hope to have all the paperwork done so that she can start on her 3rd Birthday. They even talked about her o2 needs. They will put it in her plan, that way, if she needs to be on oxygen while at school. She will still be able to attend. This is definitely a bittersweet time for me. I am so happy for all that Natalie has accomplished. I know that sending her to such a wonderful program will help her even more. I sure love having her home with me too. But this is what she really needs. My sweet little girl is sure growing up too fast!
