Surgery.....
This past Wednesday, both girls got tubes in their ears. We arrived at the hospital at 7:00 am. Eva was taken back first, she was done within 10 minutes. They came and got Natalie. We hurried to the snack shop and bought a doughnut and a drink. When we got back. Eva was being pushed out in a crib. She was sitting up in the crib, wide awake and as soon as she seen us, she was one happy baby!! So sweet. I picked her up and we snuggled for a little bit. She was very hungry and thirsty. She drank apple juice and milk and ate some goldfish crackers. A nurse came in and said that Natalie was done but was still waking up. We waited a little longer for Natalie to come out. When they wheeled her in, she greeted us with a smile. She and I cuddled for a few minutes. She ate a snack and drank some juice. Her doctor came and updated us on her. She said that the tubes were placed. But when they went down to look in her larynx, they couldn't get down all the way to see her nerves because her larynx was swollen. She wants to wait a few weeks and do it again. Both girls were so happy and ready to leave. We changed their clothes. Got their discharge papers and headed home. We were both surprised at how well they did and how alert they were after getting surgery. We are so happy that the tubes are in just in time for winter. Hopefully this winter will be much easier for them when they do get sick.
