ENT appointment......

This past week, Natalie and Eva had their first ENT appointment. Our first concern was her ear infections. Her left ear had a lot of fluid but her right did not. Her doctor said that her ear were really red and badly scarred. Our other concern was that when Natalie talks, she sometimes sounds like she is forcing her voice to come out. Over the past few weeks, it has gotten worse. It took a little while before Natalie would talk to her. But when she did, the doctor could hear what I was concerned about. She mentioned that she would like to scope her. She wanted us to get a hearing test done too. She did really well. The 2 young ladies that did her hearing test, came and went over the results with me. They said that she had mild/borderline hearing loss. My heart sunk. She had the same results for both ears with or without fluid. No wonder why, at times we have to repeat ourselves several times for her to complete a task. I began to feel guilty for not getting her referred sooner. So we went back to the doctor, she then looked in Eva's ears. They were a little red, but not as bad as Natalie's. She suggested that we get tubes put in for both girls. This next Wednesday morning. They will both get tubes. So just before the put Natalie out, they will scope her to see if her nerves in her vocal cords are damaged from being inbatated for 2.5 months. We can wait to find out how Natalie's hearing is after the tubes and after the fluids in her ears clear up. I hope that she doesn't have permanent hearing loss. I would be pretty devastated if she did. I am so grateful for the girls getting a referral to the ENT. So that we can get this resolved before winter comes.

I will be praying your little girls get their procedures done quickly and uneventfully.Hopefully the tubes will help keep their ears drained so that maybe they won't get as sick this year.
