Eva is finally gaining weight. She is now up to 2lbs 4.7ozs! She is also up to 12 mls of breast milk every 3 hours. She has had a lot of secretions in her nose, they have been suctioning the boogers out but it caused her nose to bleed. She hasn't needed any help with oxygen, she just needed help with breathing due to her nose being full of secretions. So they have her in a hood, which is helping the secretions to go away. When Natalie was in a hood, she was older and a lot bigger. Eva looks so tiny laying inside of her hood. When her Dr. called me this morning, he told me not to worry about Eva being under a hood. He didn't think that she was sick, they are thinking that she got the secretions from the new nasal cannula. She will be in a hood for the next couple of days. When we went to visit with her today, she looked so comfy in her isolette under a hood. The humidity under the hood is helping her! I am so happy that they are taking good care of her.

Karina was in a hood for a few days too. Eva looks like it is a body hood. :-)
Dear Becky,
It sounds like the baby might be starting out with allergies - God forbid. I'm 66 & I sleep with a humidifier running every night, because our air is so dry.
I really enjoy reading your family updates & seeing the photos. Your blog is a wonderful way for family & friends to keep up with y'all.
Watch Natalie if she gets near another Canadia goose. Geese & ducks can be fisty, & sometimes they try to get a bite out of people - OUCH!
It's good you can get the family out & about before Eva comes home, because you'll be really busy then.
Love,
Cousin Gerrie, in Idaho
