Natalie Update!

Well we are still at the hospital with Natalie. She had a fever up until late afternoon yesterday. Throughout the day, several doctors and nurses came in to check on her. She was given motrin every 6 hours for her fever. Once the fever was gone, she started being her cute little self again. There were times of the day when she was really fussy and all that I could do was rock her. She didn't even want to be put back in her bed. I was able to catch several naps throughout the day which was nice! I don't really sleep good when I'm not in my own bed. They gave Natalie an medication to help with the infection at noon and at 6pm. After the second dose, she broke out in a rash all over her head...her head was really bright red. A doctor came in and look at her and said that she was having what they call Redman Syndrome, which was a normal side effect. They gave Natalie some benadryl and the rash went away. I felt so much better. Last night, Erich came up after he got off work. He brought me all of my shower stuff, clean clothes and warm pajamas!! He's good! I'm so grateful that he brought me all the things that I needed. I gave Erich a big hug and told him that I missed him. I broke into tears, I explained to him that I was so happy to see him, I had been at the hospital all by myself, (which at times can we quite overwhelming!), and well I just wanted to go home. Natalie was quite fussy around 7:30 pm. She wasn't due for more meds until 8pm. So I fed her a bottle and rocked her. I think that the hardest part is the constant getting woke up for vital signs. I know that it needs to be done but why when she is sleeping! Anyways......Daddy rocked Natalie, within minutes they were both fast asleep! I moved Natalie to her bed and she actually stayed asleep! I was so happy that she finally fell asleep. Erich was planning on going back home but he wanted to take a short nap and then leave. He was so tired that he ended up staying....the bed was not much bigger than a twin but we managed. It was so nice to have him there with me. It was nice to snuggle with my hubby. Natalie slept through the whole night, even when they came in twice to check her vital signs. She stayed asleep! At 6 am, Natalie woke up! She was so hungry! They gave her some benadryl and then 45 minutes later gave the medicine. Natalie quickly fell back to sleep. Erich and I went down to the cafe and ate some yummy breakfast. Erich went home to get some stuff down at our place. This morning, the team of doctors came in and examined Natalie. They said that after all the blood work, urine sample that she in fact did not have a UTI but she had a virus. The doctor explained to me that this was normal after surgery. They are waiting on two of the tests to come back and if they are negative, we will get to go home tonight at 6 pm!! I can't wait! I'm pretty sure that Natalie wants to go home too!
